In the tutorial their screen is all scratched, do not do it like there, just gently divide it after heating with plastic picks and scrape off adhesive with some plastic, do not be strong, be smart! After it you can remove residual with some 96% alcohol. Also I would recommend using ifixit guide instead as it will be easier to keep track of screws and see how it should look like in detail.
The buttons are very clicky, which feels amazing. Warning for platform games enjoyers - this mod makes pressing all directions at the same time possible, so it might not be the best in 2D pixel perfect platforming if this would bother you. The installation is easy, but that's mostly because of Valve's excellent repairability design.
I really wanted an all white steam deck so though I would give this a try.
I’ve been super impressed that it actually feels better than the stock shell! The back buttons were always pretty much unpressable but these ones have the perfect amount of resistance!
Replacing everything was a really fun project , like big kids Lego 😂.
People aren’t joking when they say how long it takes, I consider myself pretty efficient yet it still provided me with 3-4 hours of entertainment.
The instruction video was super helpful and easy to follow and it all lined up perfectly with my steam deck . Super clear and simple to do! I was a little nervous to damage my screen but this also went smoothly, just take your time and apply loooots of heat.
I found the included tools to work just fine and the included suction cup is a lot stronger than it seems! Of course there are premium toolkits but this one is perfectly fit for purpose and included more than enough PLASTIC prying tools (perfect to not damage anything).
I am super happy with my replacement housing, the fit and finish are great!
My one and only issue is that the left trackpad feels like it rubs against the housing on one top corner which I can’t seem to fix by re-placing it. I’m quite picky with things like this but it’s not a dealbreaker and I’m still more than satisfied.

The shell looks really nice and seems to be made of quality materials. Switching out the front shell is no easy task and the directions that came with the shell we okay but not great. I ended up using my own tools and kept the original buttons. Except for the back buttons. For whatever reason, they decided to change how the back buttons are mounted so the original buttons do not fit. As long as the color stays and doesn't yellow too much over time, I am very happy with this purchase.
