3. You need to take apart your controller for installation, high hands-on skills are required.
4. Soldering optional. If you don't need the L3, R3 and touchpad buttons can be remapped, soldering is not necessary.

On-the-fly Buttons Remapping:
1. Just press and hold the Set button on the back for 3 seconds to enter the button remap mode.
2. You can activate the remapping function during the game and assign a maximum of 15 buttons (X, O, Triangle, Square, Up, Down, Left, Right, L1, L2, R1, R2, L3, R3 and Touchpad Button ) to the back buttons.

I am a klutz, and never had I soldered before. The installation video shows exactly what to do, and it is very easy to replicate. Everything working as intended!
The buttons have a great feeling when you click them, too.
(I installed a front shell as well*, and the options/share buttons are a bit sunken. I don't know whether it's because of the back or the front shell, or something I did or did not do. However, they work fine. It is just not the same feeling anymore. All other buttons have the original feeling)

Im so exited, I got the kit on time and once I assembled it, man oh boy, the feeling when you get to keep your thumbs on the analogs is superb!! Extremely satisfied with my purchase, I wish the textured rise 4 were available in more colors for ps5 but ggs 5/5
