On my xbox elite series 2 the rubbers were falling off after all this time. The buttons and everything still worked though so I felt like throwing it out would be a shame. Luckily this drop in replacement kit for the shell turned it into a beautiful unique looking elite controller and it was pretty easy to install. Just unscrew all the parts from the old one and drop them in here. The kit even had all the tape and magnet parts in case you couldn't reuse the old ones. It came with some extra spare interior pieces and the tools so I'm glad it worked so well.

Magnets for paddles seem a bit weak. Like there's way more of wobble on them than my stock shell had. Maybe the magnet got installed improperly (I had trouble telling because the marking for them was more on a corner rather than face so I didn't know which side was supposed to be where).
Otherwise, I like the shell. I like the feel of the material more than the stock one. Only annoying part was replacing the face buttons but that's on Microsoft not this kit (was a pain to get into that part and caused a rumble motor wire broke in-process which I had to resolder). Replacing the front shell and back shell though is pretty easy. If I were to do something like this again I'd just replace those and leave the face buttons as stock.
Be careful reassembling it. I had to reopen it once when I noticed a wire got under one of the triggers and now the shell doesn't completely tightly close any more. It's not something you want to reopen again, again though that's more on MS's design rather than this product.
In short, would be perfect if not for magnet issue.

Regarding the paddle magnet issue: please kindly check whether the magnets might have been installed in reverse. All of our magnets come with markings to help indicate the correct orientation—it should be easy to identify once you locate the marking on the side rather than the face.
