eXtremeRate WHOLE TACTILE Clicky Kit for PS4 Controller Shoulder Face Dpad Buttons, Mouse Click Kit for PS4 Controller CUH-ZCT2 JDM-040/050/055

This clicky kit is the first Extremerate product I have purchased. I paid 18 USD, but the price now is 15 USD. (As of October 2024) The kit took nearly an entire month to arrive even though Hong Kong and the Philippines are next to each other. I used the free shipping option and the product was packed well. The kit comes with a screwdriver and spare parts, though I would advise using a bigger screwdriver since the one included is small and hard to hold.

Pros:
1. Responsive, makes every input feel faster. Especially L2/R2.
2. Reasonably easy to assemble. (I have disassembled stuff before. Like the old Nintendo 2ds and GameBoy Color)

Mids:
1. There is still a very short travel distance with the L2/R2 buttons, but it doesn’t bother me.
2. You can easily press up/down by only pressing the left/right button on the D-pad. This occasionally makes me accidentally emote in Fortnite (my Sprint is right), so I removed the emote input. It might be a positive for people who like 2D platformers or fighting games.
3. L2/R2 analog inputs are gone, but I mostly play shooters and arcade racing games.

Cons:
1. A plastic bit must be cut and sanded down to fit properly into my controller’s L2/R2 triggers.
I used my 055 Dualshock 4 controller to install the kit, so prepare an exacto knife and sandpaper just in case.

Overall, I would recommend the kit to anyone who wants shorter controller inputs, or if they want to start modding controllers too. The only thing I don't like about the kit is it not being a complete drop-in process, and that I had to sand and cut the plastic bits. (I even got a cut on my finger) This kit might not feel good to people who have played with other premium controllers, but I like it to the point where I don't want to go back to the stock Dualshock 4. I have been using my clicky Dualshock 4 since late May, and I have encountered no problems with it.

I first bought a Hexgaming controller and after reading their websites about us and seeing the affiliate Extremerates website with parts and lots to modify, I was up for the challenge, I bought this kit for the first time ,never taking apart a controller ,but with the tutorial videos and detailed instructions WITH pictures ,I felt confident enough to not only get a complete decade kit but also to add the click button kit as well , I also bought a brand new PS4 controller cause mine were worn and I wanted to start with a brand new donor for the internals, overall since I've had them installed it's been a great experience gaming with the new controllers , and way cheaper (if you own a ps4 controller in fair condition to use for donor) than buying assembled.

Surprisingly easy to install, does exactly what it says. Far cheaper than buying a modded controller.

The buttons feel like this is the way the controller was meant to be , the tactile buttons offer absolute no lag and the clicks are so fast , if i supposedly want to press X button twice , with this mod it get upto the ultimate level providing user with so much ease . Ofc you lose the l2 r2 range but that wasnt imp to me , after playing rocket league with it im not switching back to traditional silicone buttons now!
